Just make music with what you have that works.

Don't worry so much about keeping up with the tech. And they don't have time to deal with bugs in a new system. Post house is still running PT8, because it works for them(it was the best version for me too, incidentally). While Avid is about to release PT12, Warner Bros. There is no point in upgrading your system if you don't need to. yikes!! The Sudoku of the DAW world I guess.Īlso important to consider this: if what you're using now works for you, why switch to anything? People get too hung up on having the latest and greatest whatever, when it's not necessary. It's so intuitive - the opposite experience I had to using Logic for 20 years!
ALTERNATIVES TO PRO TOOLS FOR MAC MANUAL
I moved from using Logic and occasionally PT HD to Cubase and now CP8 has decent VCA's it's a great platform to work on for music production ( I don't do any post work)Ī strong point for me about Cubase is I've become very fast with it and I think I've only opened the manual three times in five years!! To HD if you do any post - it's expensive but worth it if you need those features. If your needing VST instruments then Cubase has some, StudioOne a little less and Reaper a little less than that.Īny comment? If you where on PT HD then I think the forthcoming Nuendo 7 will have a more sophisticated VCA system than CP8 and offer something of a similar feature set I use all three for different things here. You should check them all out and decide for YOU what you like and dont like.
ALTERNATIVES TO PRO TOOLS FOR MAC SKIN
You can skin it as was mentioned to look really close to Protools. Don't believe all the trolling BS about it, its not the be all end all DAW as some would have you believe.
ALTERNATIVES TO PRO TOOLS FOR MAC FULL
You can see the workflow minus all the bells and whistles of the full version.Įither DAW has a flow close to Protools IMO.ģ. You can download Cubase Elements with a 30 day trial to check it out as well. StudioOne has a FREE version you can check out which is limited or you can download the full demo for 30 days as wellĢ. There are also Pro-Tools skins, if that makes you more comfortable, or just a plethora of themes/skins to give whatever feel you want to it.Īny comment?1. You can literally never customize the program, ever. You do not have to do any customization in reaper AT ALL. This is also a dumb myth perpetuated by trolls. There is another myth floating around these board that you have to fully customize the DAW, and do so each time you do ANYTHING in the DAW. Reaper is no more difficult to learn than any other DAW, and many people find it extremely intuitive and quicker to learn.Īlso, yes, it is a fully customizable DAW. I'm taking a look at Cubase 8 and Studio oneĭont let the bullshit myth of the 'super spooooooky reaper LEARNING CURVE( )' deter you. Is there anyone out there who is in the same boat? Now this new crazy licensing policy is driving me to make a switch to something else. I'm very tired of Avid policy, buggy versions that have not been fixed and maybe never will be. I'm wondering which could be the best DAW that has similar pt workflow.
